WHAT IS NOVIS RXID?

Novis RxID™ is an internet-based drug tracking and inventory management system that provides detailed information at the unit level. Using only a web browser and standard barcode scanners, customers are able to view key specifics about products, including but not limited to:

> Current inventory
> Current location(s) of inventory
> Target levels
> Expiring inventory
> Transaction history

In addition to these items, Novis RxID supports customized e-mail alerts, such as recall and expiration notices.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO IMPLEMENT NOVIS RXID?

No IT involvement is required. Customers will need to have a computer with internet access and a barcode scanner. In some cases, Novis may supply the hardware.

CAN NOVIS RXID BE USED FOR CONSIGNMENT?

Yes. Novis RxID can be a valuable tool in consignment and deferred billing accounts. When a product is scanned out of a facility’s inventory and administered to the patient, Novis is able to automatically generate re-order notices and trigger billing activities.

DOES NOVIS RXID ADDRESS PATIENT SAFETY ISSUES?

Yes, in several ways:

> Pedigree: Novis RxID links to the TraceLink pedigree and provides visibility into the transaction history for items.

> Messages: If there is a safety issue, such as a recall or alert, Novis can dynamically generate product-specific email messages to customers.

> Alerts: As an added level of security, Novis also generates event-level alerts. For example, when a user scans a high-alert item for use in the facility, a warning message will prompt the user to cancel use of the product and provide instructions for safe handling and return.
